Namita Chaudhuri, teacher in our Kofim (preschool) Class, feels delighted and privileged to be part of CBE ELC. Namita worked in this facility for 13 years when it was under the auspices of the JCC (Jewish Community Center). During that time, Namita worked with toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners. Currently, Namita fosters a loving and caring environment within the Kofim classroom, as well as teaching cooking, in ELC’s Enrichment Program, to many aspiring three and four year old chefs. Overall, Namita has thoroughly enjoyed working with all of the ELC’s staff members and connecting not only with the many children she’s taught, but with their wonderful families too.
Namita lives in Acton with her husband, and they have two loving children. Namita and Narayan’s daughter, Arpita, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Emergency Medicine. She is currently working as a fulltime paramedic in Pittsburgh. Their son, Amlan, finished his second year at Ohio State University in their Industrialized and System Engineering.
Namita enjoys cooking, gardening and shopping, but in particular, she loves food!!!! She and her family love to cook together, participate in many social gatherings/cultural programs, and are involved in many different activities within their community. Namita says, “We love to go camping and to the beach in the summer time. I like to listen to music, especially Indian classical music.”
Namita was born in India; she has two brothers and one sister, who live in Tripura, India, with their mother. Namita’s native language is Bengali, but she can also converse in Hindi. She immigrated to the United States in 1992 where she lived in Rochester, NY for three years and Chicago for one year before finally moving to the Boston area in 1996. Namita obtained her BA, with Honors, in Education from India. While working at CBE, Namita was able to obtain her Lead Teacher Certification.
Namita is looking forward to another wonderful year associated with the staff, children, and family of CBE ELC.
