Clare Perry is a teacher in our Kofim (preschool) class. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a BA in Sociology, Clare moved to Boston to continue her education at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. There she mastered administrative skills to begin a career in retail banking. After 6 years in retail banking Clare and her husband Gifford started a family in Sudbury, where they continued to raise a family and become involved in the local community.
Clare became involved in a community based program called the Family Place, first as a participant and later as the registrar and treasurer. The Family Place offered parent and child playgroups, along with workshops for parents with young children. Eventually she began to facilitate playgroups for young mothers and toddlers. This led her to work at Steppingstones School in Stow developing a preschool class curriculum for 3 year olds. After taking courses at Wheelock College she became Lead Teacher certified in Preschool as well as Infant and Toddlers. Clare worked at Steppingstones School for over 20 years with 3 year olds, 4 year olds and as a Kindergarten aide. Also within those years Clare led two separate Girl Scout troops for her daughters for a total of 12 years.
Clare and her husband have since moved to Harvard to be closer to their grandchildren. In her free time Clare enjoys walking the local trails, biking, gardening, and traveling to her summer home in Lewes, Delaware. Her favorite time is spent with her grandchildren, cherishing the special time with them.
